What's happening

In accordance with Section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council gives notice of a proposed resolution to classify Lot 51 DP 135610 being 529 Galston Road, Dural as “Operational Land”.

This property was transferred to Council’s ownership on 22 February 2024 following from a Bequest in the Will of the Late Melvin Richard MacNutt.

There is a small single level brick veneer residence on the property with the balance being a battle-axe driveway, natural bushland and a creek. The land, which has a total area of 4.34hectares, is zoned part RU2 Rural Landscape & part C3 Environmental Management.

Mr MacNutt’s Will contained suggestions for future uses of the house and surrounding land which will be determined by Council after the land and improvements are assessed.

It is proposed that the property will be retained and added to Council’s residential property rental portfolio until such time as a long-term decision is made. A classification as “Operational Land” will ensure that Council can make decisions on future uses of the property without the constraints of a “Community Land” classification.

The house will require maintenance and repair works before it is suitable for occupation.

Supporting plans and an aerial photograph of the property are included in the document library.

Written comments/submissions are invited and should be received before close of business on Friday, 29 March 2024.
