Council is currently reviewing submissions made in response to the public exhibition of the Rural Lands Study Planning Proposal that seeks to implement the short term recommendations of the Hornsby Rural Lands Study 2022 (Hornsby RLS).

Since finalisation of the Hornsby RLS in June 2022, Council has been working towards implementing the short term recommendations of the study. These include measures to support productive land use in rural areas, limit land fragmentation, manage land use conflicts and introduce opportunities for agritourism on existing farms. The study is being implemented through:
