Classification approved

Council approved the classification of the land at 3 Gloria Close, Mount Colah as Operational Land on 10 April 2024.

The exhibition period was 8 March to 5 April 2024 and there were no objections.


What's happening

In accordance with Section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council gives notice of a proposed resolution to classify Lot 13 DP 259243 being a residential property situated at 3 Gloria Close, Mount Colah as “Operational Land”.

The land has an area of 740.5m2, is zoned R2 - Low Density Residential and adjoins Foxglove Oval which is located on the site of a former rubbish depot. The residence is being purchased due to the contamination of parts of the backyard by methane gas.

The contamination is being monitored after remediation works. The property will be incorporated into Council’s Residential Property Rental Portfolio and eventually be sold. Classification as “Operational Land” is required to permit a future sale.

In 2022, Council purchased the adjoining property situated at 5 Gloria Close, Mount Colah which is currently rented and has also been classified as “Operational Land”.
