Council is writing to you about a proposal to install “Motor Bikes Only” parking restrictions in Waitara Avenue, Waitara, adjacent to the driveway of 18 Waitara Avenue.

Council wants to get the balance right and would like your feedback.

Council has received a request from residents of 18 Waitara Avenue to convert two car parking spaces adjacent to their driveway, to “Motor Bikes Only” to improve sight lines at a driveway.

This proposal will result in the loss of two on-street parking spaces for cars, and create four on-street parking spaces for motor bikes.

The provision of motor bike parking spaces would improve sight distance for motorists exiting the driveway of 18 Waitara Avenue.

Council is proposing to implement the following changes to parking restrictions in Waitara Avenue:

1. Removal of one 45o angled parking space and one parallel parking space on the eastern side of Waitara Avenue, adjacent to the driveway of 18 Waitara Avenue.

2. Install “Motor Bikes Only” signs on both parking spaces adjacent to the driveway of 18 Waitara Avenue.
