What's Happening?
Council is proposing to install:
- A new shared path and
- A raised active transport crossing
These upgrades aim to improve walking and cycling connections to Cherrybrook Metro Station. The new link will join with the existing shared path on Robert Road, creating a more continuous and accessible active transport network.
A shared path is a wider public pathway designed for both pedestrians and cyclists in line with the NSW Road Rules. In October 2025, Council exhibited a concept for a shared user path on Robert and Dalkeith Roads. Based on community feedback, we have updated the proposal to improve pedestrian safety
Key Features
Key features of the updated proposal are:
- 3m wide shared path along eastern side of Robert Road between Dalkeith Road and existing shared path in Robert Road near Cherrybrook Metro Station.
- 3m wide shared path along northern side of Dalkeith Road between No 8A and Robert Road connecting to the existing shared path in walkway connecting to Ashford Road.
- Raised Active Transport Crossing in Robert Road north of Dalkeith Road.
- Realignment of Robert Road to improve geometry near Robert Road Park
- New Parking regulations near the road crossing.
Why?
As a result of the feedback received during Public Consultation October 2025 Council has now updated the proposal to improve pedestrian safety.
