To help improve access for customers and support local businesses, Council is proposing the following parking changes along the railway side of Railway Parade, Thornleigh.

• Introduction of a 3-hour (3P) parking, operating:

8:30am-6pm, Mon-Fri

8:30am-12:30pm Sat

(54 parking spaces along the railway side of railway parade).

• Replacement of existing 1‑hour (1P) parking with 3‑hour (3P) parking
  (6 parking spaces).

In 2023 and 2024, local retailers shared concerns that long‑term parking along Railway Parade was reducing customers access and impacting local businesses.

Council committed to reviewing the parking after major local projects were completed. This review has now been finalised.

Feedback from local retailers has helped guide the plan, creating more short‑term parking and fairer access for all users.

Hornsby Shire Council adopted the Hornsby Shire Car Parking Management Study, which outlines key findings and recommendations to improve parking management across the Shire. Council is currently progressing the implementation of these recommendations (refer to Thornleigh Town Centre, p. 41).

All feedback will be referred to the Hornsby Local Transport Forum for consideration before recommendations are made to Council.
