Proposed Upgrade of Pedestrian Crossing
Council is proposing to install a full time marked pedestrian crossing at the existing ‘Children’s Crossing’ in Mary Street. This upgrade will improve drivers’ awareness of the crossing and improve safety of pedestrians.
Key features of the proposal are:
- Installation of painted ‘Zebra’ marked crossing lines and pedestrian crossing signs.
- Extension of the ‘No Stopping’ zone on the approach to the crossing in Mary Street, to 24 metres.
- Conversion of the existing part time ‘No Stopping’ zone to a full time.

Council invites your comments on the proposal by close of business Friday, 2 August 2024.
