Proposed Pedestrian Safety Improvements

Council is proposing to install a full time marked pedestrian crossing at the existing Children’s Crossing in Leeming Street. This upgrade will improve drivers’ awareness of the crossing and improve safety of pedestrians.

Key features of the proposal are:

  • Installation of painted ‘Zebra’ marked crossing lines and pedestrian crossing signs.
  • Upgrade of kerb ramps to suit full time pedestrian crossing standards.
  • Change from part time ‘No Stopping’ zone on the approach to and departure from the crossing in Leeming Street, to full time ‘No Stopping’ zone.

Council invites your comments on the proposal by close of business Friday, 27 September 2024. The results of the consultation will be referred to the Hornsby Local Traffic Committee for consideration and recommendation to Council.
