What's Happening?
Council is currently developing detailed design plans for a major stormwater drainage upgrade in Galston, particularly in the areas around Glen Street, The Knoll, Gardiner Road and The Glade.
Why?
The objective of the proposed work is
to improve drainage and flooding in the Galston area. The proposed works
will at least double the capacity of the existing stormwater pipes between
Gardiner Road and piped system outlet which discharges behind Glen Street. It
is also necessary to upgrade and formalise existing secondary overland flow
paths as part of the works. It is anticipated the design phase will be completed by August 2025, and construction works started during the 2025/26 financial year. Due to the anticipated high construction cost, and Council’s limited annual funds, the construction works may need to be staged over 2 or 3 years. |
