What's Happening?
Council is proposing to extend the existing ‘No Parking, 8am-4pm School Days’ in Stokes Avenue, along the entrance frontage of Asquith Girls’ High School.
Council wants to get the balance right and would like your feedback.
Why?
Council has received a request from Asquith Girls’ High School, to extend the existing parking restrictions in Stokes Avenue, to accommodate the drop-off / pick-up during early morning and late afternoon. Councils' preliminary investigations confirmed that the extension of the zone would be beneficial to traffic and road safety.
How?
The Proposal Council is proposing to implement the following parking restrictions in Stokes Avenue:
1. Install ‘No Parking’ (restricted to between 8.00am - 4.00pm, School Days) signs on the northern side of Stokes Avenue, 30 metres long, east of the current parking restriction. This area is currently unrestricted. This will form an extension of the existing zone.
2. Install ‘School Drop-off Pick-up Zone’ signs on top of the start and end times of the ‘No Parking’ signs.
