What's Happening?
Council is kicking off plans to give the changeroom at North Epping Oval a well‑deserved makeover — because everyone deserves a clean, safe, and accessible place to get ready to play!
The aim is to:
- Improve accessibility, inclusion and safety.
- Provide better storage and user facilities to sports clubs, council maintenance crew, and community.
- Support hygiene in Council’s public amenities.
The proposed upgrades include:
🏗️ Makeover time
The existing amenities ground floor is getting a glow-up. Larger space, brand new feel. Public toilets and storage are moving to their own separate buildings.
🚿 Change with confidence
Our changerooms are getting a glow-up — bigger, more private, and designed to be more female-friendly with an extended layout for added comfort.
🍽️ Delicious food on the menu
Extension for a new canteen and storage within the existing building.
🚻 New loo lineup
A new toilet building featuring one accessible cubicle and three unisex cubicles.
🏠 Storage sorted
A brand-new shed will be installed at oval level.
🛣️ Smooth moves
New footpaths, ramps and upgraded parking will improve access to the amenity building for everyone.
Why?
The works been identified for renewal under Council’s Special Rate Variation (SRV) program. The building currently has no accessible entry due to level changes. The change rooms also lack privacy, with open showers and no screens at the entrances. The proposed upgrade will address these issues by incorporating a more inclusive and women-friendly design for the change rooms, improving accessibility throughout the facility, and providing more effective storage solutions for both Council and local sports clubs.
When?
The upgrade is scheduled for 2026.
How we will use your feedback?
Council will review all comments and take them into consideration when finalising the design. A summary report will be available here and, on the Parks and Play Space Projects page.
