The Proposal

Council has prepared a draft Landscape Plan for Norman Avenue Park, Thornleigh, to set a vision for upcoming capital works upgrades.

The draft Landscape Plan proposes the following items:

  • Relocation of playground to towards the southern end of the park to provide shade from existing trees and open up the lawn area for informal passive recreation
  • A local scale playground with a large climbing unit, two swings, a 4-way rocker and nature play
  • Seating opportunities including refurbishing the existing picnic setting and shelter and installing new seats with backrests and sandstone seating logs.
  • Refurbishment to the existing bubbler
  • New concrete circuit path and upgraded entrance
  • Fence extension at the northern and southern ends of the park
  • New park sign
  • Tree planting for shade

Staged works may be necessary subject to funding availability.

Following the community consultation period the Draft Landscape Concept Plan was amended to take on board the feedback we received from the community. See document library to view the Revised Landscape Concept Plan.
