About the Committee

Hornsby Shire Council is re-establishing the Hornsby Heritage Advisory Committee (HAC), which assists Council in the conservation and promotion of the heritage of Hornsby Shire.

The Committee will provide a range of technical and community oriented advice, offering local knowledge and expertise regarding Council's built, environmental and cultural heritage.

Be one of the six members of Council's Hornsby Heritage Advisory Committee. The committee meets four times a year and runs approximately two hours.

  • Who Can Apply?

    Council welcomes expressions of interest from:

    • Four technical specialists from the architectural, planning or other related professions with an expertise in heritage; and
    • Two community representatives with an avid interest in heritage.
  • Committee Role

    Members will provide:

    • Technical and community oriented heritage advice;
    • Assistance to educate the community on the importance of heritage conservation;
    • Support for submissions to funding agencies for grants to help conserve heritage items; and
    • Advice and assistance with heritage programs, exhibition, education and events.
