The Heritage and Housekeeping Planning Proposal was approved by Council on 11 December 2024. Council is currently finalising this Planning Proposal.

The Heritage and Housekeeping Planning Proposal aims to improve the operation, accuracy, and interpretation of the Hornsby Local Environmental Plan 2013 (Hornsby LEP). The Planning Proposal introduces new heritage items and amends or removes some existing items listed in Schedule 5 Environmental Heritage of the Hornsby LEP. It also seeks to remove text and mapping references to land within the Parramatta Local Government Area. Public exhibition of the Heritage and Housekeeping Planning Proposal was held between 26 August 2024 and 23 September 2024. On 11 December 2024, Council considered a Report on Submissions (PC20/2024), resolving to endorse the Planning Proposal as amended and progress with finalisation of amendments to the Hornsby LEP as the Local Plan-Making Authority.
