What's Happening

Edward Bennett Oval playground is scheduled for renewal under Council‘s capital works program. The playground upgrade is part of wider master planned upgrade works for the park that include a circuit path, amenities building upgrade, fitness opportunities and water harvesting basins.

The playground will be upgraded from a local level provision playground to a district level playground as per Council’s Play Plan HSC5867-Play-Plan-April-21-FA.pdf.

The project is jointly funded by the NSW Government in association with Hornsby Shire Council.

Playground Key Features

The Draft Playground upgrade features:

• Fully fenced playground

• Shade sail and additional shade tree plantings

• New prefabricated amenities building

• New picnic shelter with accessible furniture

• Covered accessible BBQ

• New pedestrian footpaths with links to the broader proposed oval circuit path

• Improvements to drainage

• New seating opportunities throughout playground

• A wider range of play opportunities to reflect a district level provision

• Neutral colour scheme with green highlight
