What's happening

In accordance with Section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993, Council gives notice of a proposed resolution to classify the following properties as “Operational Land”:

  • Lots 5 & 8 DP 1284528, being the whole of the land described as Lot 1 DP 17334.
  • Lots 1 to 4 & Lot 6 DP 1284528 being part of Lot 2 & part of Lots 4 to 7 DP 17334.

Council has acquired 3 Bridge Road, Hornsby being a property on the corner of Bridge Road and Peats Ferry Road for road purposes. The land has a total area of 773.7m2 and is required for an intersection upgrade including two left turn lanes from Peats Ferry Road.

A Notice of Compulsory Acquisition of Land was published in the NSW Government Gazette and Council’s website on Friday, 9 February 2024.

After classification as “Operational Land”, Lot 5 DP 1284528 will be dedicated as Public Road and Lot 8 DP 1284528 will be transferred to the adjoining owner in exchange for road widening required from that property.

That road widening is described as Lots 1 to 4 & Lot 6 DP 1284528 which are also proposed for classification as “Operational Land” in accordance with Section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993.

This land is within the Service NSW Business Office at 324-330 Peats Ferry Road and 5-7 Bridge Road, Hornsby. After transfer to Council’s ownership and classification as “Operational Land”, Lots 1 to 4 & Lot 6 DP 1284528 will also be dedicated as Public Road.

Supporting plans, including colour coding of the respective areas, and Civil Designs for the intersection upgrade are included in the document library for these land classifications.
