Council is writing to you about a proposal to install 15 Minute parking restrictions in Cardinal Avenue, near West Pennant Hills Public School’s “Outside of School Hours Care” facility (OSHC, also known as “The Y” YMCA, 1 Church Street, in the grounds of West Pennant Hills Public School). Council wants to get the balance right and would like your feedback.

Need for the Proposal

Council has received requests from OSHC parents and carers, to provide parking restrictions in Cardinal Avenue, to accommodate the drop-off / pick-up during early morning and late afternoon. It has been suggested that the southern side of Cardinal Avenue, between Pennant Hills Road and Church Street, be converted to short-term parking.

The OSHC provides “Before and After School Care” on school days, and also provides “Vacation Care” on school days during NSW school holidays, operating between the hours of 7:00am and 6.30pm.

The Proposal

Council is proposing to implement the following parking restrictions in Cardinal Avenue:

1. Install ‘P15 Minute’ (restricted to between 6:30am - 9.00am, 2.30pm - 6.30pm Mon-Fri) signs on the southern side of Cardinal Avenue, 45 metres long. This area is currently unrestricted.
2. Existing ‘No Stopping’ signs near the intersections to remain unchanged.
