What's Happening?

Council is proposing to install a Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) and weir in the stormwater channel in Huxley Reserve Off Bridge Road, Hornsby (accessed via Water Street).

Why?

The proposed works will improve the ecological health of the channel by improving water quality through the capture of litter, sediments & vegetation debris.

When?

The design of this project is listed in Council’s current 2024/25 Capital Projects, under the Waterway Improvements (Catchment Remediation Rate) Program, and construction is anticipated to start during the 2025/26 financial year subject to funding and obtaining all necessary approvals.

It is anticipated the construction period will be approximately 12 weeks, weather permitting. Another letter will be sent once the construction timeline is confirmed.
