What's Happening
Council is proposing to implement the following parking restrictions in Brennan Close and Kelray Place:
- Install ‘No Parking’ signs in the cul-de-sacs in Brennan Close and Kelray Place.
- The proposal would remove four (4) parking spaces in Brennan Close, and would remove six (6) parking spaces in Kelray Place, along the cul-de-sacs.
Why?
Council has received requests from tenants in Kelray Place to remove parking spaces in the cul-de-sac (turnaround area). The aim is to improve accessibility and allow heavy vehicles to manoeuvre more safely and efficiently.
Although vehicles have been parking in this area informally, it is important to note that the cul-de-sac is designed specifically for turning around rather than parking.
To support road safety and access for heavy vehicles, similar ‘No Parking’ restrictions have already been introduced in the Asquith Industrial Area in Leighton Place, Hornsby.
Since Kelray Place is one of only three cul-de-sacs in the Asquith Industrial Area, Council will also introduce the same parking restrictions in Brennan Close, Asquith to ensure consistency and improve access for heavy vehicles.
