What's Happening?
Hornsby Shire Council is excited to be upgrading the park’s play area in accordance with Council’s adopted Play Plan. This proposed works includes the replacement of old equipment with a nautical adventure theme in honor of Captain Edward Robert Amor, who the park is named after.
Our exciting draft Concept Plan for Amor Street Park, Asquith proposes the following items:
- A local scale playground* upgrade with a landscape theme that shares the story of Captain Edward Robert Amor, told through the nature play trail with stepping stones, logs, bridge and rain/rock garden. The natural rock feature will be kept for the community to explore as part of the trail.
- Removal of the existing play equipment, and replacement with a tower play equipment, a three-seat swing set and a boat themed rocker.
- Seating opportunities including new picnic setting park shelter and sandstone logs for informal seating.
- Play area with accessible concrete paths.
- Tree planting for shade and screening.
The construction works is planned for the first half of 2026.
