Proposed Parking Restrictions and Proposed “Part-Time No Right Turn” Restriction
To manage parking and traffic flow in Mount Pleasant Avenue, a proposal has been developed as follows:
1. Installation of “No Right Turn, 8:00am-9:30am, 2:30pm-4:00pm, Mon-Fri” restriction from Mount Pleasant Avenue onto Pennant Hills Road.
2. Installation of Part-Time “No Stopping” restrictions in Mount Pleasant Avenue, as an extension to existing Full-Time “No Stopping” zones. 92m to the western side and 24m to the eastern side.
Why?
The NSW Government Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure, has approved the Loreto Normanhurst School Redevelopment SSD-8996 (State Significant Development) including the construction of a Boarding Accommodation Building in Mount Pleasant Avenue,
This is subject to a number of conditions including:
A requirement for Hornsby Shire Council to consider implementation of a “Part-Time No Right Turn” Restriction from Mount Pleasant Avenue onto Pennant Hills Road.
Council has been monitoring traffic flow in Mount Pleasant Avenue, in response to concerns raised by the community, regarding parking issues and traffic congestion, particularly following the commencement of construction at Loreto Normanhurst.
Consultation Results
All Submissions will be referred to the Hornsby Local Traffic Committee for consideration and recommendation to Council.
